These include the power core, thrusters and weapons. Every hovercraft has three main parts that need to be protected. This makes it possible to keep playing even after taking damage from debris flying out of the car. Taking a part of a car knocks back the player's life bar by one notch instead of ending the game. When a car is destroyed, its parts head toward the player. Additionally, staying further along the track helps your vehicle go faster and more obstacles appear. Further down the track, high point values are achieved. Every 80th car you knock down awards you 880 points. After destroying each car, players earn points based on the number of obstacles destroyed. This number increases as the number of hovercrafts you destroy increases. When you destroy a hovercraft, the number is displayed on the top-right corner of your screen. Players can improve their score by defeating more obstacles, battling bosses and finishing with a high score. The objective of the game is to clear obstacles from the path while earning bonuses, using boosters and fighting bosses with high power. The same game concept exists in Hovercraft: Takedown as it does in games like Smashy Road: Wanted and Reckless Getaway 2.
